In the last year, however, admission statistics for many aspirational Ivy League colleges have become unreasonably challenging and universities have declared a record high in the strength of their applicant pools. This coincides with a low acceptance rate that has been a point of contention for students. Harvard, for example, has had a record low number of acceptances for its 2025 class, with a slim rate of 3.43%. Its contemporary, Yale, saw a 4.6% rate, while Columbia nearly halved their numbers – from 6.3% to 3.7%.
